What is Circle and what are its key features?
Circle is a self‑hosted, open‑source video‑conferencing app built on Ant Media Server. You can deploy it on‑premises or in any public/private cloud, and attendees join via browser—no plugins required. It offers ultra‑low latency streaming (WebRTC), adaptive bitrate, built‑in recording, and privacy by design (you fully control your data and branding).
Out of the box, the demo supports up to 200 simultaneous participants. However, because Circle runs on Ant Media Server’s auto‑scalable cluster, you can grow well beyond that—into the thousands or more—simply by adding nodes or leveraging cloud auto‑scaling.
  1. Download the latest `circle.war` from the Ant Media GitHub or Marketplace.
  2. Log in to your Ant Media Server dashboard.
  3. Click New Application, give it a name (e.g. “circle”), upload the `circle.war`, and hit Create .
  4. Browse to `https://:5443/circle` to start your first meeting.
